Seattle is filled with people who are passionate about their own neignborhoods. It is not uncommon to hear folk debating the merits of their own patch of heaven in local coffee shops and at parties.
Clearly, for some, the list of best places to live is a matter of opinion, but to put things straight, Seattle Metrolitan Magazine has published their own list.

Crown Hill is the Seattle Time's Neighborhood of the Week

Many people consider it part of Ballard, but technically, Seattle Times' Neighborhood of the Week is called Crown Hill and sits on a gentle rise of land stretching from NW 75th Street to NW 100th Street and is bordered by the Loyal Heights neighborhood to the west and Greenwood to the east.
A Small Town Feel
With rising property values in many parts of Seattle due to the migration back to urban living after decades of “white flight,” and with an influx of high tech migrants with deep financial pockets, the bedroom Ballard communities of Loyal Heights and Crown Hill have undergone gentrification. Holiday entertainment in West Seattle

For those who live there, West Seattle is a small town which is made up of a number of different neighborhoods, each with its own character and much loved by its residents. Whether it is the beach community of Alki or Fountleroy, a neighborhood perched on the side of the hill overlooking the ferry terminal, West Seatle has much to offer.
All of these neighborhoods are anchored by the downtown area called "The Junction" by locals because of its location at the junction of California and Alaska Aves. It has the feel of a typical English village High Street with its restaurants and indpendent stores. The Junction is a great shopping and dining destination for people throughout Seattle.
