The city of Enumclaw is located in southern King County. It is one of the smaller cities in the county, with a population of just under 11,500 residents. It is located at the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range, boasting stunning views of the mountains. In fact, some of the best views of Mount Rainier can be caught from Enumclaw. The small population is mirrored in the small town charm that is apparent as you travel through Enumclaw. Small cafes and antique shops help the town to keep its character, despite the ever-growing suburbs that surround. Enumclaw is located on a flat plateau that was formed after an ancient mudflow from the nearby Mount Rainer. This geographic feature leaves acres and acres of open space, some of which is used for farmlands, but much of which is used for Enumclaw’s residential real estate. While there are some small stores and restaurants in Enumclaw, it is primarily a residential community. With a lot of space and not a lot of residents, much of Enumclaw’s real estate is located on large plots of land. Despite its small size, Enumclaw does not fall short in the community category; there is both plenty to do and to see. The Department of Parks and Recreation works hard to create new and maintain current parks within the city limits. Once again, because of the flat geography, Enumclaw makes the perfect spot for baseball, soccer and football fields. This said, most of the parks have plenty of space for such activities. The Expo Center is perhaps the most popular of the community areas, for it is the location of many of the town’s activities. The Expo Center sits on 72 acres, allowing room for RV campgrounds, a stadium, a rodeo arena and much more. Throughout the year events such as Oktoberfest, dog shows and the Scottish Highland Games take place at the Expo Center. The King County Fair also takes place at the Expo Center in July every year. Enumclaw also has a golf course. The self-titled Enumclaw Golf Course has 18-holes and is a great course to really relax and take in the open air. Enumclaw is also in a good location for enjoying some of the fun things in surrounding areas. Since it is right at the foothills of the Cascades, opportunity for camping and skiing is ample. The White River Amphitheatre is also very close by. Here, patrons can see some big names in the music industry perform without having to travel too far. Even with all of this fun, Enumclaw is still a comfortable place to simply live everyday life. Daily necessities such as grocery stores and gas stations exist without ruining the town’s charm. The Enumclaw School District is the public education system in Enumclaw, with five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school serving the city’s residents. There is also a public library and hospital located in Enumclaw. Enumclaw is a great mix of functional and comfortable.
