Kenmore Homes for Sale and Real Estate Listings

At the most northern shores of Lake Washingtons eastside lay the city of Kenmore. It is located almost halfway between Interstate 5 and Interstate 405, with Bothell to its northeast. It is a part of King County. It has gained a nickname of, "Kenmore by the Lake" due to its location. Most of the homes are characteristic of typical suburban cities, but the development of some upscale neighborhoods in the north end of town is keeping Kenmore competitive with some of the affluent cities surrounding it. It has a population of around 20,000 residents. Even though Kenmore is not considered a small town, there is still the presence of community. Many events and city-improvement projects are planned by the community members themselves. A monthly newsletter is available to all residents for them to keep updated and active in their hometown. Most Kenmore residents commute to work, but the city is centrally located: an easy drive to Seattle, Bellevue, or even Everett. Kenmore is a part of the Northshore School District. The schools in Kenmore include a high school, a junior high and four elementary schools. There is also easy access to the nearby University of Washington (both Seattle and Bothells campuses) as well as Shoreline Community College, complete with bike trails and bus routes. Kenmore also has a number of waterfront parks and recreational opportunities for residents to enjoy.

Kenmore Real Estate and Community Information:

Kenmores prime location makes it a great spot to get outdoors and enjoy all the city has to offer. Rhododendron Park has a play area, picnic tables and trails for park guests. It gets its name from the collection of Rhododendron species found there. Log Boom Park is located on the shores of the beautiful Lake Washington and has beach access. The 18-mile Burke-Gilman Trail also finishes (or begins) here. The trail runs all the way to Seattle and is popular among runners, walkers and bikers. Some even use the trail as a thoroughfare to commute to work. Kenmore hosts a variety of events throughout the year for its residents. There is a spring Easter egg hunt, a 4th of July fireworks show and an outdoor summer concert series.  There is also a Christmas tree lighting in the winter, where there are activities intended for whole family fun, like arts and crafts, warm drinks and photos with Santa. The Inglewood Golf Club is also located in Kenmore. Though a membership is required for play, the course is well worth it. Established in 1919, it is one of the oldest courses in the Northwest. The course itself is well-maintained and the clubhouse has recently undergone a remodel which the club calls, "an architectural masterpiece". Kenmores outdoor opportunity, central location and community involvement make it a great place to call home.
