Seattle Real Estate and Community Information:

Living in Seattle, one thing is for sure: you will never be bored. The city has almost anything one could want to do in it. All of the typical city activities such as shopping and dining exist and draw in both residents and visitors. Seattle is also a great place for entertainment. It is home to the Seattle Mariners baseball team and also the Seattle Seahawks football team. Through their respective seasons, fans come from all over the state to watch the professional teams in their Seattle stadiums. If sports are not your thing, Seattle also has a fantastic theatre district. The 5th Avenue Theatre has been in Seattle since 1926 and has since been a theatrical icon. The theatre shows everything from touring Broadway shows to musical performances. Aside from the shows, the building itself is a reason to visit. The architecture is inspired by Chinas Forbidden City and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since the 70s. As mentioned previously, Seattle also has excellent shopping and dining opportunities. The shopping district has a number of desired stores such as Macys and Nordstrom. Stores such as Banana Republic, The Gap, Anthropologie and many others are all within a few blocks, making it easy to visit all your favorite stores. The world famous Pike Place Market provides a different type of shopping for Seattle. Here, one can find vendors selling fresh fruit, flowers and vegetables. Homemade clothing, soaps, jewelry and toys are also available. Just down the street from the market is the first Starbucks coffee shop. Step out of its doors, and you fill find yourself looking at the beautiful Puget Sound and Pier 59, where the Seattle Aquarium is located. On the other side of the city, the Space Needle acts as a centerpiece to the Seattle Center. In the Seattle Center is the Key Arena, the former home of the Seattle Sonics, The Pacific Science Center, International Fountain and Seattle Childrens Theatre. The Experience Music Project music museum, a tribute to Seattles musical roots, is also located in Seattle Center. All of these aforementioned activities and destinations barely skim the surface of all there is to do in Seattle. Living there is the only way to truly see all it has to offer.

Though Seattle is definitely a city, there are ways to escape the fast-paced city life. The Seattle Parks and Recreation Department works hard to create a number of parks and green space within the city. Gardens Park and is located on the shore of north Seattle, offering views of the sound and the Olympic Mountains. The park offers all of the features of a typical park, including a childrens play area and basketball court, along with a sandy beach, area for fire pits and an off-leash dog area, and it is definitely one of the most beautiful parks in Seattle. Gas Works Park is another park in Seattle. It sits on a peninsula on Lake Union and is unique, made on the land of an old coal gasification plant. Several of the buildings are incorporated into the park. Some stand as historic structures, while others have been renovated into climbing and play structures. Gas Works Park is also the host of a 4th of July festival, featuring food and fun by day and a fireworks display over Lake Union at night, which was rated as one of the "Top Five Fireworks Displays" by TIME magazine. As anyone can see, Seattle has a ton to offer its residents and is an excellent place to live.
