Fitting right in with the sense of history present in Snohomish, is the presence of numerous antique shops. In fact, some refer to Snohomish as the antique capital of the Northwest. Through the summer months, Snohomish has its very own Farmers Market, featuring arts, food, produce and, of course, antiques and collectibles. The city also hosts a number of other events that occur throughout the year such as outdoor movie nights, downtown Halloween trick-or-treating and charity fundraisers. Snohomish also has an event called Kla Ha Ya Days, a long weekend filled with fun activities for the whole family. Here, the options of what to partake in are practically endless. A golf tournament, marathon, salmon cook-off and soapbox races are among some of the most popular. There is also a collection of “silly” events such as cherry pit-spitting contests and bed races. On top of all of these events, there is food and a carnival running the entire weekend. Snohomish’s fun events, rich history and great sense of community all work together to make it one of the greatest towns in the area.
