Bothell is a city located in both northern King County and southern Snohomish County. It lies northeast of the city of Kenmore, west of Interstate 405. It is situated where Highway 522 ends in the west. With a population of around 33,000 residents, Bothell is a decently-sized suburban city. Like many cities located in King County, Bothell is in a central location, making it easy to commute for work to larger cities, such as Seattle, Bellevue and Everett. Residencies range from homes, apartments and condominiums. Most homes are situated in residential neighborhoods, making them quiet and desirable, especially for those with families. Wide, tree-lined streets create a scene of which many only dream. Bothell is a part of the Northshore School District and has one high school, two junior highs and 10 elementary schools. Cascadia Community College and The University of Washington-Bothell campus are also located in the city limits. Bothell also has a good park system, as well as a focus on community events. These factors contribute to Bothells popularity among families. Bothell has much to offer to its residents, including ample opportunity to enjoy fresh air at one of the many parks. One of the most popular and scenic parks in Bothell is Blyth Park. It happens to be Bothells biggest park at over 40 acres and offers many of the great park amenities, such as a play area and picnic tables. It is located along the Sammamish River, which provides river access and nice scenery, and along the Sammamish River Trail, which allows for exercise or a relaxing stroll. The Park at Bothell Landing is also a great park. Though it is much smaller than the first at only a little over 5 acres, it still packs a lot of fun. It too is set along both the Sammamish River and Trail. The Park at Bothell Landing has an amphitheatre which serves as a perfect spot for many of Bothells community events and can also be rented out for private events.
Events in Bothell are constant, with something different to look forward to at any time of year. In the spring, there are Easter egg hunts and a flower show. A Fathers Day car show kicks off the summer months and further emphasizes Bothells dedication to family. The 4th of July brings an entire series of events including a pancake breakfast, parade and historical reenactment of The Battle at Concord performed by community actors. The summer continues with outdoor movie and music nights. As the leaves begin to fall, residents can attend the Harvest Festival where there are arts and crafts and a pumpkin painting contest. The year rounds out with a plethora of holiday events, such as a tree lighting, Santa arrival and a Holiday Open House, with treats and pony rides for kids. Downtown Bothell is a quaint and charming area, complete with a number of independent and historic shops. Explore the authentic stores, grab a bite at an outdoor café, or just stroll through town. Rated the fifth best suburban city by Seattle Magazine, Bothell truly does live up to this accomplishment.
