Lake Forest Parks is appropriately named for all of the assets it has to offer: the beautiful Lake Washington, the forested nature and the large number of parks all come together to make Lake Forest Park a truly beautiful place to live. Located just north of Seattle, it is a small suburb with a population of just over 13,000 people. It is in the most northern part of King County, as the citys northern border lies along the Snohomish County line. Lake Washington lies to the southeast, so some of Lake Forest Parks real estate is either waterfront or boasts beautiful views of the water. Lake Forest Park is almost a completely residential community, with very little of the city zoned for commercial use. This is due to the fact that early real estate development focused on the importance of large lots and maintaining the forested nature of the area. Though Lake Forest Park has few options for commercial activity, it is not isolated in any way, as surrounding cities provide commodities for Lake Forest Park residents. The city is a part of the Shoreline Public School District, with one high school, one middle school and three elementary schools located in Lake Forest Park.
"Forest" and "park" are the perfect words to describe the character of Lake Forest Park. Even though the city is geographically small, there are still six well-maintained parks in Lake Forest Park. Lyon Creek Waterfront Park is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Lake Washington. The park is generally quiet and relaxing in nature because it is not a typical recreational park. Instead, a trail along the meandering Lyon Creek allows for a peaceful area to walk and enjoy the tall trees and manicured lawns. A long dock over the lake lets visitors truly experience the splendor of the lake, and there are even picnic areas to enjoy lunch on a sunny day. Of course, if a more active afternoon is what youre craving, Lake Forest Parks Horizon View Park is an option. Here, a playfield and tennis and basketball courts are available. Paved trails for running, biking or walking and a childs play area make Horizon Park the most recreational park in Lake Forest Park. The sole shopping area in Lake Forest Park mirrors the efforts to keep the town residential in nature. The Lake Forest Park Town Centre has a few chains out of necessity, but the centerpiece of the center is the Third Place Commons. This is a common area full of places to sit, a performance stage and restaurants. The commons also hosts an annual Farmers Market from May to October every year. Lake Forest Park is one of the most hidden treasures of the region and a search for real estate will not be regretted.
